Dry Brushing in Acrylic Paint

Dry Brushing in Acrylic Paint

2nd attempt. Teaching myself. Getting the hang of dry brushing in acrylic paint so I can use it in portraits and passages of paintings. Sphere is about 2″ or less. Red oxide, black, burnt umber, and white Liquitex Basics paints were worked on a light yellow background with a #2 filbert brush on Canson XL Series Mix Media paper.

My first attempt was on Canson XL Series Acrylic Paper. That went well until I tried to wipe a little excess paint off the paper and the paper’s surface tore, separated. I didn’t need to wipe away excess paint this time but have a feeling that the Mix Media paper could better stand up to that.
